The Alliance for Kids announces a four-part series of training for early care and education professionals working with children with high needs.
Karen Banovich, CPCD Early Childhood Behavioral Health Consultant, will present the training which counts toward 8 Professional Credential points of ongoing professional development in PDIS.
Inclusion: What? Why? How? This training covers basic, practical information to equip early care and education professionals to better serve children with high needs. The goal is to increase the confidence of professionals and to ensure the success of all the children in their classrooms!
Behavior: This training will explore the various aspects of children’s challenging behavior and how to help children follow expectations. Using a Positive Behavior Support approach, participants will learn and practice how to teach and reinforce appropriate behavior in the classroom.
Difficult Parent Conversations: This training will provide professionals with the skills to handle those difficult conversations with parents whose child displays a developmental “red flag.” Topics will include establishing good communication and partnerships with families.
Speech & Language: This training will give practical ways to encourage communication with all the students in the classroom.
