Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) | PLC

April 24, 2019 @ 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm
AFK Conference Room
2335 Robinson Street

Childhood experiences, both positive and negative, have lifelong impacts and influence health and well-being later in life.  Come and learn from local experts about the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACEs) that started the movement toward understanding the link between what happens early in life and later outcomes.  This training will help teachers and administrators set up positive experiences in their center in classrooms and support children showing challenging behaviors.

  • See those you work with through a different lens.
  • Reflect on how this information changes the way you interact with the
children and adults in your classrooms.
  • Learn about caring for ourselves while providing trauma-informed care.
  • Explore next steps for our community.

Training Schedule:

April 3:  An introduction of the concept of ACEs:  “It’s not what’s wrong with you, it’s what happened to you.”

April 10:  I Know About ACEs – Now what?

April 17:  Using the ACEs Lens in Your Everyday: Thriving in the Face of Working with Challenging Behaviors

April 24:  Wrap up:  Where do we go from here?
