The Office of Early Childhood is bringing you a new and improved Colorado Shines Professional Development Information System (PDIS). Para obtener información en español, haga clic aquí.
The new PDIS will launch in mid-June. (If you missed our announcement about the new PDIS, please click here, and be sure to review this fact sheet about the PDIS update, as well as answers to some frequently asked questions. )
To prepare for this transition, please be aware of these dates that impact you:
- June 7: It’s important that you finish all PDIS courses currently in progress by the end of the day on June 7.
- June 8: The PDIS will be temporarily shut down at midnight on June 8. This is to allow time to migrate data and get the new system up and running.
Courses that are in progress at the time of the transition to the new PDIS will not transfer over. Professionals with courses in progress at the time of the transition will have to restart and take the entire training again in the new PDIS to earn a completion.
To ensure you receive credit for your courses currently in progress, please finish all courses prior to June 7.
Note that all current and up-to-date training will be available in the new Colorado Shines PDIS and will continue to be free of charge.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
What will happen to my record of course completions in the current Colorado Shines PDIS? Will this information be available in the new system?
Yes. All courses marked as completed in the current Colorado Shines PDIS, such as online courses, will show on a user’s transcript in the new PDIS. However, courses must be completed to transfer. That means you must finish all courses currently in progress prior to June 7 and the transition to the new PDIS.
What will happen to my documents in the current Colorado Shines PDIS?
If you would like to keep a copy of the documents that you have uploaded to the current PDIS, please download these documents now. Unfortunately, the Office of Early Childhood was unable to transfer all user documents from the old PDIS to the new system. Please note that the current PDIS will be shut down at midnight on June 8. The old PDIS will be available again after the launch of the new Colorado Shines PDIS, but only for users to download documents. The old PDIS will be available in “read only” mode for document downloads through August 2021. After August 31, 2021, all data in the old PDIS will be erased.
