Public Health Update | Mask Mandate Clarification & Preschools in Schools

Alliance for Kids is sharing the following updates and reminders from El Paso County Public Health (EPCPH).
Statewide Mask Mandate: Executive Order D 2020 138 requires all “individuals over ten (10) years old must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth when entering or moving within any Public Indoor Space”.
  • This means that all staff or children over 10 years old in a child care facility must wear a face covering while indoors unless the individual cannot medically tolerate a face covering.
Preschools in Schools: The recently published CDPHE school guidance, as well as the El Paso County Public Health school guidance, is specific to grades K-12. This means that preschools in schools should follow Child Care Guidelines for COVID operations. These guidelines can be found on the CDPHE Child Care Website.
Isolation guidelines are under review to match the CDC recommendations and the Child Care Exclusion document will be updated. We are expecting CDPHE to update child care guidelines and exclusion criteria in the near future, as well. When more information is available, it will be distributed.
