  1. Sessions will provide program staff assistance with registering and completing PDIS hours towards achieving a Level 2 status.
  2. Sessions will provide program directors and primary contacts assistance with registering  and completing their QRIS program profile in Colorado Shines.

This committee meets the first Thursday of the month from 1 – 2:30 pm at CPCD (2340 Robinson Street, Room 210). For more about this committee, please contact Dana Scarbrough.

The Alliance for Kids Family Support & Education Committee assists in the work of Alliance for Kids which aligns its work with the Strategic Plan and Early Childhood Colorado Framework.

 

Pyramid Plus Approach Training – Orientation @ CPCD - Rooms 222/223, 224/225

Join us for eight intense days of Pyramid Plus training where you will learn specific strategies to enhance the social/emotional development of the children you work with, how and why to encourage inclusion, and how to better support children with challenging behavior. You will receive 48 hours of training for only $100.00

If you are interested in applying for a scholarship (partial or full) please click here to fill out an application prior to registering for the training. It is absolutely necessary to apply for the scholarship prior to registering for the training as AFK cannot easily reimburse you after you have paid the training fee. An AFK staff member will respond to your application within two business days and give you the code to register.

*Please note that submitting a scholarship application does not guarantee participants a spot in the current training. If the registration for the training fills and closes while your application is being processed you will be added to the waiting list for the next Pyramid Plus Approach Training.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be considered to have met the educational requirements for Early Childhood Guidance Strategies (ECE 103) in accordance with Division of Child Care rules regulating child care centers and family home licenses.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: August 31, 2017

No refunds will be given after the registration deadline of August 31, 2017. A small processing fee may be charged if a refund is requested.

Education & Advocacy Committee @ Pikes Peak United Way

NEW! Connect with local organizations! The Education & Advocacy Committee meets from 11 am – 12 pm at Pikes Peak United Way immediately prior to the Learning & Development committee.  The Education and Advocacy Committee serves to guide education of families and community on characteristics of quality early education and child care and the long term impact on children, families and the community. The committee also serves to communicate relevant legislation to the community and organize community advocacy around Council approved policies. Join the conversation and attend our monthly meetings. Learning & Development Committee @ Pikes Peak United Way

The L&D committee is made up of agencies and individuals who work collaboratively on a seamless system of care to provide access, quality, and equity in learning and development for children prenatal to age 8 and their families,  assists in the work of Alliance for Kids which aligns its work with the Strategic Plan and Early Childhood Colorado Framework.
