Members

Alliance for Kids members  are children's services providers, community organizations, and parents concerned with the well being of young children.  As members they are expected to take part in at least one committee. Chairs of those committees and Alliance co-chairs make up the Executive Committee which functions as the board.

Alliance Committees are: All Alliance, Early Learning, Executive, Family Support, Health/Mental Health, Professional Development.

Member commitment
The Alliance's extensive strategic plan involves more than 50 key stakeholders concerned with early childhood development. Perhaps the most significant impact of the Alliance for Kids is its members’ commitment to leverage available resources through partnerships that provide high quality, comprehensive services for El Paso County’s young children and their families.

Some examples of these partnerships include:
  • School Districts 2 and 11 offer Colorado Preschool and Kindergarten Program services through a variety of community partners.

  • Even Start Family Literacy Program (Community Partnership for Child Development, School Districts 2 and 11, and the El Paso County DHS)

  • The El Paso County Health Department's Child Care Health and Safety Advisory Committee, funded through the Maternal Child Health Program

  • Provision of additional resources to The Resource Exchange's “Part C” services (Early Intervention)

  • El Paso County Dept. of Human Services and El Paso County Dept. of Health & Environment' child welfare recruitment and enrollment partnership with Community Partnership for Child Development

  • Break Time Respite Program for children with special needs, birth to age 21, and their siblings (The Resource Exchange, El Paso County Department of Health and Environment, Community Partnership for Child Development, and seven other community partners)

  • Joint Initiatives for Youth and Families, an interagency collaboration whose mission is to build a healthy community and strong families, serves as the Fiscal Sponsor of the Alliance for Kids

  • Colorado Child Care Assistance Program intake is addressed collaboratively by Child Care Connections and the El Paso County Dept. of Human Services and El Paso County Dept. of Health & Environment

  • Co-location of staff from the El Paso County Dept. of Human Services and El Paso County Dept. of Health & Environment and Pikes Peak Mental Health to better support families self-sufficiency efforts

  • Services for pre-school children with special needs in Head Start programs (Community Partnership for Child Development, School Districts 2, 3, 8, 11, and 20)

  • Child Care Mental Health Consultations to support children with challenging behaviors Pikes Peak Mental Health Center.
